How Daily Practice works

Daily Practice is a personal list of multiple-choice questions. MCQ.SG chooses the questions for each pupil from their own practice and adds more over time, so two pupils at the same level can see different questions. It's the easiest place to start any day: open it, answer a few questions and read the explanations.

How are the questions chosen?

MCQ.SG looks at the pupil's level, how they've done on each topic and skill so far, their recent answers, and which questions they've already seen. As they keep practising, later choices take the new results into account. The aim is to spend a pupil's practice on what will help them most.

Why do the first questions feel general?

When a pupil starts, MCQ.SG doesn't yet know what they find easy or hard, so the first questions range across topics at their level. These early answers work as a short check. Once there are enough results to go on, the list becomes more personal.

What happens when I skip a question?

A pupil can skip any question. A skipped question doesn't count as an answer: it doesn't go towards the daily goal or the free plan's daily limit, and it doesn't go into Revision.

If a question is on a topic their class hasn't covered yet, a pupil can skip it with I haven't learnt this. MCQ.SG then holds back from that topic in later recommendations for a while. When they're ready for it, they can practise it on purpose through a worksheet or Focused Practice.

What if my Daily Practice list is empty?

Finishing the list doesn't refill it straight away. Each night, MCQ.SG checks whether a pupil's list is running low and, if it is, adds more where suitable questions are available. Any questions not yet answered are carried forward alongside the new ones.

In the meantime, a pupil can do an MCQ.SG worksheet, or use Focused Practice on the Ranger plan. On the free plan, MCQ answers in worksheets share the same five-a-day allowance as Daily Practice.

An empty list means the pupil has caught up for now. It doesn't mean every topic has been mastered.

Choosing a practice mode compares Daily Practice with the other ways to practise.
