For teachers
Following your class
As a teacher, you can follow the practice of pupils in the classes you're authorised for, see who may need support, show questions to the class for discussion and keep your roster up to date. Worksheets have their own guide: Creating and assigning worksheets.
Finding your way around
The workspace navigation has three groups, each for a different job:
- Class is for understanding how the class is doing. Overview shows class activity and how pupils answered each question, Topics shows which topics and skills need attention, and Saved holds questions you've bookmarked.
- Students is for individual pupils. Progress shows each pupil's recent practice, and Roster is for class administration, where your class allows it.
- School appears when your school has these features turned on. Worksheets is for building, assigning and following up on worksheets, and Feedback is for reviewing reports about questions.
If you teach more than one class, use the class switcher to move between them.
What you can see
You see the classes you're authorised for: class activity, how pupils did on particular questions and topics, each pupil's profile and history, and worksheet results. A pupil's history can include their independent practice, such as Daily Practice, Focused Practice and MCQ.SG worksheets, not only work you assigned.
Can I see what my pupils asked the Tutor?
No. Teachers can see practice answers and results for their authorised classes, but not pupils' Tutor conversations.
Overview: questions, topics and activity
Class evidence follows a time period you choose: the last 7 days, the last 30 days or all time. It starts at the last 30 days.
Overview shows class activity for that period, including who practised and how much was independent practice. It also shows how the class answered each question, with multiple-choice and open-ended questions in separate tabs. Each question card carries one main classification, and the clearest class-wide patterns come first. Open a card to see the outcome and how each pupil answered.
Topics lists topic and skill gaps for the chosen period, weakest first. Select one to look at the underlying answers and see who may need to go over it again.
Spotting who needs support
The Class views use the period you choose, but Progress under Students always shows each pupil's recorded practice over the last 30 days. Pupils with no recorded practice in that period appear separately rather than with a zero score, because no evidence isn't the same as poor work.
Select a pupil to open their profile, which shows recent and all-time accuracy, weak areas and their history of answers. Links from a topic, skill, session or worksheet can open the same profile already filtered to that work.
Saving and presenting questions
Bookmark useful questions to come back to; they collect in Saved. Saved follows the same time period as the other Class views. Every bookmarked question stays in the list, but its class results reflect the chosen period. If no one in the class answered it in that period, the card says so instead of showing a score.
Present shows chosen questions full screen for class discussion. You can move between them and reveal the answer when the class is ready. Present doesn't collect answers from pupils' devices.
Roster, groups and sign-in help
Roster is for pupils already in your class. There you can:
- correct a pupil's displayed name
- give an eligible pupil a single-use login code, where codes are available for your class. The code expires after five minutes and is entered on the MCQ.SG login page.
- create, edit and remove Student groups: reusable subsets of the class, such as a support group, that you can choose when assigning worksheets
New accounts, adding or removing pupils, and changes to class or pupil levels are managed by the MCQ.SG team, so contact us for those.
AI Tutor controls for your class
Some classes have a teacher setting for the AI Tutor. If yours doesn't, no Tutor setting appears. Where it does, it's in the class's Settings, in one of two forms:
- a simple on or off switch for pupils' Tutor access
- school-hours control, which makes the Tutor available Monday to Friday, 7.30am to 1.30pm Singapore time. An option to allow use outside school hours keeps access on until you turn it off again.
These controls decide when pupils can use the Tutor. They don't give teachers access to Tutor conversations. Answers, feedback and help explains what pupils see.
Reporting a problem with a question
Use the feedback option on the question to explain what looks wrong. Teachers can also review and reply to reports in the school's Feedback area. Reporting a problem doesn't change pupils' marks automatically.
What your pupils see
Pupils have their own dashboard with their daily goal, recent activity, practice choices, the worksheets you've given them, and links to Progress and History. These pages explain each part in full:
- Choosing a practice mode, including Daily Practice and Focused Practice
- Answers, feedback and help, covering MCQ feedback, open-ended marking, Need help? and the Tutor
- Worksheets, from the pupil's side
- Progress, History and reports, including weekly reports for parents
