Choosing a practice mode

MCQ.SG has four ways to practise: Daily Practice, Focused Practice, Revision and Worksheets. They all work the same way once a pupil starts: answer a question, then see an explanation. What differs is who picks the questions and what each mode is for.

On the free plan, a pupil can answer up to five MCQs a day in total across Daily Practice, worksheets and Revision's Same questions. Ranger removes that limit, and it can come from a personal subscription or from a school. Plans and access explains both. Focused Practice also lets Ranger pupils choose a set of open-ended questions.

A little more about each

Daily Practice is a personal list that MCQ.SG keeps topped up. How Daily Practice works explains how questions are chosen and what to do when the list runs out.

Focused Practice puts the pupil in charge: they choose MCQ or open-ended questions, a level, topics, difficulty and how many questions to do. It's a good way to go back over an earlier year's topics before a test. Focused Practice explains how sets are built and why recently practised questions are left out.

Revision brings back questions whose latest answer was wrong or only partly right. Revision explains Same and Fresh questions, and why an earlier result stays as it was.

Worksheets come in two kinds: MCQ.SG's own worksheets, which a pupil can repeat as often as they like, and worksheets set by a teacher, which get one attempt. Worksheets covers both.

If you're not sure where to start, start with Daily Practice.
