Progress and rewards

Daily goal and rewards

The daily goal is the number of MCQs a pupil aims to answer each day. Reaching it earns a sticker, and XP and explorer levels show how active they've been.

What counts towards the daily goal?

Every final MCQ answer counts, right or wrong, wherever the pupil gives it: Daily Practice, Focused Practice, Revision and worksheets. Open-ended answers and skipped questions don't count towards the goal, although open-ended work still appears in History and Progress.

To change the goal, go to Settings, then Daily Goal. A number the pupil can manage on most days usually works better than a high one.

Why did my practice after midnight count for yesterday?

The practice day for goals and stickers starts at 3am Singapore time, not midnight. Practice between midnight and 3am counts towards the previous day's goal. The free plan's daily limit of five MCQ answers is separate and does reset at midnight.

Why did my free questions run out before I reached my goal?

The daily goal is a target the pupil chooses. It doesn't raise the free plan's allowance of five MCQ answers per calendar day, which resets at midnight Singapore time. So a pupil on the free plan can reach the allowance before reaching the goal. Ranger removes the daily limit; Plans and access has the details.

Stickers

Reaching the daily goal earns one sticker for that day. Extra practice after the goal is still worthwhile, but it doesn't earn more stickers that day. The Sticker Book shows the pupil's collection and how many of each sticker they own, and the same sticker can sometimes turn up more than once.

XP and explorer levels

XP and explorer levels show how active a pupil has been on MCQ.SG. They aren't marks or grades, and they aren't linked to the pupil's school level.

Why the screens stay calm explains how we think about rewards.
